Properties : essential pine oil has traditionally been used by Native Americans to prevent scurvy, mild asthma and bronchitis. The young pine shoots were used in baths for exhaustion, reduced circulation and skin conditions of various kinds. The Sami have also used pine needles during the winter as these contain 600 times more vitamin C than in the summer.
