Thoth Tarot Deck

This magnificent Swedish tarot deck contains Kabbalistic and astrological allusions. Instruction booklet in Swedish included.

Thoth tarot was created by the noted occultist and philosopher Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) and Lady Frieda Harris (1877-1962), who painted the cards at the beginning of World War II 1938-1942. Many cards were painted in several versions until one of them was approved by Crowley. Despite Lady Harris's scant knowledge of the tarot and its symbolism, through her artistic mind and Crowley's guidance, she was able to transfer the subtlety of his visions into the paintings. The final tarot deck really succeeds in expressing Crowley's esoteric ideas and making them intuitively accessible to everyone. The paintings were first published in Crowley's Last Masterpiece The Book of Thoth (1944) and published as a complete tarot deck in 1971.
